techshop: A great idea

Here is a link to Guy Kawasaki's blog with a nice article and a lot of
pictures: http://blog.guykawasaki.com/2007/09/techshop-geek-h.html

The idea seems to not be totally original. With a little searching I
found references to other DIY shops, but nothing in the DC area and some
that went out of business rather quickly.

Their electronics shop is not very impressive. But it is not that hard
to come up with a decent electronics shop at home, even in an
apartment. The big vertical mills, lathes, plasma cutters, etc, would
be more difficult to maintain in a home shop. Although I expect some
people do it.
