As many are aware, Meg and I belong to the Loudoun Amateur Radio Group
(LARG). I am the station chief for the VHF/UHF station again this year.
Anyone from AMRAD that would like to come out and perhaps get some air
time is encouraged to come out.

The VHF/UHF station usually works almost all the stations in the first
couple of hours and the remaining time is used looking for fresh meat to
finish out the field day period. LARG has been a great bunch of guys to
work with and here is your chance to get your feet wet without the wild
flood of QSOs seen on HF. Let me know if interested and we will work
you in.

We have been offered an ICOM IC-910 as our radio. A really nice
transceiver. I also plan to try running a digital TV receiver so we can
watch the local Doppler radar for the current weather. We will just
have to see if the signals make it to the site. Last year it was very
helpful for avoiding passing thunderstorms.

Additionally, just come and help set up and hang out while others man
the station.
