Interesting musical group, and their Tesla instruments

Yes indeed, the sound is made by pulse modulating the Tesla arcs. Not  
only did the ArcAttack guys develop this technique and build their  
giant Tesla coils, but they also designed and built a MIDI interface  
in order to make it easily playable. Personally, I don't think that  
their AGT performance of "Iron Man" was as impressive as their "Dr  
Who" theme or other performances on YouTube, but enormous fun. Also,  
they're rather overplaying the "dangerous" aspect of the show - they  
clearly know their science - but who can blame them?
