yes, we have that at the office too, and that's because the data on your 
computer is already backed up on the internal network.
Hence they wipe off the HD, re-install the OS, and then download your 
backed up data on your clean HD
  but I am afraid that's the kind of luxury I cannot afford for my own 
laptop :-)

An easier solution is to put your data on a "Ironkey" USB thumb drive.
