New Site Features and Updates
Over the past few months the RadioReference administration team has been active in rolling out new features and functionality to the site. Below are a number of new features and enhancements that are now available:

Updated styles for easier navigation across the site
Nationwide frequency support for the RadioReference database
Amateur Radio repeater frequency support for the RadioReference database
Amateur Radio callsign lookups and searches
Expanded user profile features, including shack photos, bios, profile photos, and amateur radio callsign integrationAdditionally, our premium subscribers have actively communicated to us that they would prefer not see advertisements on the site. Starting this fall, we have now removed virtually all advertisements from the site for our premium subscribers.
Manufacturer Updates
Radio Shack PRO-18 Scanner - Radio Shack released their long awaited digital pre-programmed handheld scanner. The PRO-18 comes bundled with the complete RadioReference.com database and is easily updated using the bundled software. Using this scanner is just like using an MP3 player. Setup your playlist, press play, and you are listening to everything you want to!

For more information on the Radio Shack PRO-18, see the Scanner Master Radio Shack PRO-18 Information page or visit your local Radio Shack.

Uniden HomePatrol - This fall, Uniden really stepped it up and released a number of new enhancements for their flagship scanner. Starting with freely available firmware and software enhancements for all HomePatrol users, Uniden made significant enhancements to add additional programming and configuration setups. For advanced users, Uniden released an upgraded firmware for $99 called "HomePatrol Extreme" which provides highly advanced technical features, including:

Complete front-panel programmability
Trunked system load / reception status tool
Current trunked system activity tool
Trunked LCN monitoring and finder tools
Trunked activity logging
Bandscope and RF scope tools
Frequency and talkgroup search toolsFor more information on the Uniden HomePatrol, see the Scanner Master HomePatrol Information page.

Live Audio Updates
As of November 22st, 2011, our live audio platform features 2,920 active unique feeds from all over the world. In addition, we add 5-10 new feeds daily so if your local area is not yet covered, please check back.

This fall we were excited to announce that we increased our audio feed archive retention time from 15 days to 30 days for every feed. This now provides a full month of audio history for members to review past calls and incidents. Audio feed archives are exclusively available to premium subscribers.

TIP: We receive a lot of questions about feeds that are offline or not available during certain timeframes. RadioReference reminds listeners that all feeds are provided by volunteer broadcasters, thus we have little control over the availability of a broadcast. Remember, broadcasters might be experiencing technical difficulties or may not be immediately available to troubleshoot their feed.

Don't forget that all feed providers receive a free premium subscription to RadioReference. If you are interested in providing a feed for your area, see our article titled: Becoming a feed provider.
Database Updates
Starting this summer, we are now tracking all amateur radio repeater information. This means we are actively looking for our members and users to submit any amateur radio repeater related information that they are aware of. You can help us by submitting repeater frequencies and information in your area. Start by accessing the following link:
