Since univeral power supplies now handle everything from 100 to 240 VAC and up to 330 VDC, what we use here for ham radio applicaitons to UNIQUELY identify these universal sources is simply the existing USA 2 pin female socket with a nylon male plug.

The male nylon pin prevents the plugging in of anything not univerally compatible, but MATCHING connectors for 89 cents can be made by smiply drilling a matching hole. See the images at the bottom of http://aprs.org/alternative-energy.html
