Subject:  Ham Radio & 4-H at the Prince William County Fair

Prince William County, VA - Local Amateur Radio Clubs, in coordination 
with Prince William 4-H clubs, will demonstrate the capabilities of 
today's Amateur Radio Service at the Prince William County Fair.

Yes, we are going to do a Public Demonstration of Emergency 
Communications capability, August 10-18, at the Prince William County 
Fair - in the 4-H Booth.

The ARRL (Virginia Section) developed and authorized the attached Press 
Release ( 8/1/2012 ).

Look for this to show up in local newspapers next week.

The "final" document has been sent to the news media and the "short" 
document is a one page summary (suitable for posting in public places / 
bulletin boards like might be found in libraries, grocery stores, 
restaurants etc. ...).

Please feel free to discriminate this public information as widely as 
possible, prior to and during the fair.

Amateur Radio licensing is growing in this country and our club 
memberships should also be growing - this demonstration is intended to 
make the public aware of the benefits from and fun associated with the 
Amateur Radio Service and will hopefully contribute to increased club 
memberships.
