The rise and fall of the vacuum tube

This link takes you to a histogram I prepared that compares the incidence of
references to vacuum tube, transistor and microprocessor in English over the
last century. It uses the Google Ngram Viewer - another great time waster.

References to vacuum tubes plateaued between 1945 and 1952. Transistor
rapidly rose from near zero in 1949 to a sharp peak in 1962 - more than
double the number of vacuum tube references at its peak. Microprocessor ran
up from 1970 to a peak in 1985. Inexplicably, the trends for both transistor
and microprocessor are significantly down and falling from their highs. It
would be interesting to see what electronic terms are increasing in the
current era. Any suggestions?
