It looks to me like a differential GPS reference station. It has a GPS
receiver in a known location (which accounts for the size of the base) that
calculates error terms for the received GPS signal. It then transmits those
corrections via UHF to a moving receiver, which uses them to increase
accuracy. Many modern farming techniques rely on accurate geolocation, so
it's not surprising to see one at the edge of a corn field
