Yes, I remember when TV sets resembled boat anchors.  I also remember going
over to Bldg. 17 in Camden, N.J. and seeing the little ladies using boat
anchor soldering irons on one of the RCA Broadcast Div. assembly lines.
Please note this video is about Zenith.  All of the electronic manufacturers
did it in the same fashion.
