  A tempting thought. However, throughout human history walls have been 
tried many times with, at best, only temporary effectiveness. Humans are 
devious creatures that will eventually find their way past any 
obstruction. They can't be stopped, only slowed until the flood gates 
burst. Walls are a no win solution often employed by temporary leaders 
inflicted with myopic vision. Beam me up, Scotty.
