<font face="Comic Sans MS">I have the Kindle edition. It's about an
American in the RFC in WW1. IN one chapter he describes how they
spotted for artillery via wireless. He describes how they could
only transmit to the ground and the different batteries of guns
would use panels on the ground to talk back. He says they easily
could have had a receiver in the plane, but because of the noise
of the engine and the vibration that there was no way to figure
out what was being sent from the ground. When his plane would fly
near a German battery they would cease firing as the system was so
good the the gun flashes betraying there position would mean he
could zero in on them and send British artillery raining down on
them. </font><font face="Comic Sans MS">There is also a nice
description of German jamming of signals and sending of false
signals. <br>
