it's hot outside. With the pain killers working I decided to
use the last switch on the strip pack to try and repair the
phone. Thanks Joe for the tip on using compressed air to blow
out the mounting holes. It's pretty interesting in that the
solder when blown formed a mist which made nice pattern on the
board. It scared me at first, but the solder brushed right
off. Once the holes were opened up it was easy (ha!) to locate
the switch on the board and solder one side of its frame to the
board. The rest was just tedious, but I had to watch out not to
burn my nose as the cheap 4x loupe I was wearing focuses at
about 2 inches. I let out such a yell </font></font><font
size="+1"><font face="Comic Sans MS">I nearly opened the wound
where my tooth was when that phone lit up! I'm charging the
battery now and trying to get the person who gave it to me to
pass on the unlock code. <br>

<div>I have used the panavise for years with the plug in
option (one of several types) to the base that grips any
kind of flat pcb because it's shaped like a horse shoe and
is width adjustable. This allows you move the board in
any direction that you need.</div>
<div>If you need to clean a soldered fill hole on a
sensitive board, if you don't have a motorized vacum, then
use a quick blow of air just as you melt the solder to
blow the solder out.</div>

switches of the strip trying to figure out how to
clamp it, I got one left. I will wait till
