At Patrick's suggestion I'm going to give it a go with my Mooshimeter, but it only has 1s resolution, meaning it might or might not see anything at all.<br>

Far better (and more dramatic for yelling at people) would be 1000 samples/second DVM, so one could see the actual waveform as things go sideways.<br>
