<pre class="moz-quote-pre" wrap="">Hi all,
Greetings from Virginia Beach.
Just for the record, some parts of life worked out well, and some went to hell on a rocket.
Anyhow, been busy on some interesting side projects.
When I was at NRL got involved in 3D printing making explosives holders.
Some years later I snagged a home printer and started to make stuff on my own again.
One recent project was to reproduce an old camera battery that had been obsoleted for many years.

Sent some to a youtube presenter and got a nice mention in the vid.

Some time back the wife used to complain how loud I had the ham radios turned up in the car.
Made a number of speaker housings that live between the headrest and seat top.
This one was an early one. Including the back story.

Revised design.

Even better one.

Adapted a power tool battery to run a bit of ham radio gear.
Just for the record, the battery is good for 20 volts, so inside the instrument is a DC to DC converter, that knocks the level down to about 13V.

.
One of my buds fixes radio station studios. I noticed that the 'levels' are all over the dial and wanted to fix that.
Made this 'adapter' to allow easy measurements of balanced audio with a hand held DMM (Fluke 8060A)

Made replacement parts for some of my instruments.

Had another idea today. Ever notice how many of the laptops we have external power jacks in the 19 volt range?
Recently had to use an antique laptop to run a program to configure an even older radio. That laptop ran off the bench supply at 19 volts or so.
Got to wondering what would happen if I made up an adapter to take a power tool battery and adapt it to a cable that feeds the laptop.
Did make one cute item.
Used 'color morphing leds' to make a night light.
In a darkened room it throws a spray of shifting mulit color light up to the ceeling. Soothing.

Hope your all well.
Keep it sane.
