(Gemini). My search string was for a design for a light weight
airborne VHF/UHF transponder. I should say that was the string I
ended up on. I started with "network able ssb radio" and just
kept asking questions. It took me through ham balloons . <br>
The LimeSDR Mini 2.0 tied to a Pi Zero W was also suggested.<br>
Some Gnu Radio techniques for building a transponder were put
forth.<br>
This looks feasible. It will take me a bit of time to build a
pod, I'm in the knowledge digestion stage....<br>

There is lots of support and software for Pluto.
The oscillator stability could be better. You would be better looking
at the Pluto+ which is the same ADI reference design but with
improvements (TCXO I think).
