On September 23, 1998, NVRC officially signed a contract for Rehabilitative
Services Incentive Funds from the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The money,
received through the support of the Fairfax Area Disability Services Board,
will be used to improve and enhance NVRC's web page.

NVRC is seeking a web page consultant or consultants to design an improved web
page to be completed by February 1, 1999. In addition, we seek a consultant or
consultants who will continue adding information to the redesigned website
through May 15, 1999. 

The website enhancements will make the site more user-friendly and add
information often requested by the community.  Links will be established to
other organizations and agencies who can provide additional information.  We
will add an employment section with links to resources for finding jobs,
information about resources for employment, information about employment laws
and tax breaks for employers who hire people who are deaf and hard of hearing.

If you are interested in contracting with NVRC, we invite you to submit a
proposal with information about your experiences and credentials.  References
should also be included to show other websites that you have designed.  Among
the qualities we are seeking are:

1.  Previous experience with web design and adding new information.
2.  Experience with Macintosh programs for web design and data such as
ClarisWorks and FileMakerPro
3.  Experience in making web pages accessible to all people with disabilities,
including those who are visually impaired
4.  Ability to communicate effectively through e-mail and be available for
approximately four face-to-face meetings.
