I just received my copy of February's Monitoring Times magazine. 

Kevin Carey's Below 500kHz column mentions that on 1 Nov GWEN went silent (for good) but that many of these stations are being converted to DGPS (285-325kHz.)   There's also a Lowfer station listing and mention of ARRL's 136kHz petition.

Can any AMRADers confirm the GWEN shutdown?  If so, perhaps we can get to use one of their local sites for a LOWFER Beacon (Gettysburg PA, Crownsville MD are two sites listed.)
