24v DC @ 25 amps

Hello Tacoistas,

I have recently purchased from Marlin P. Jones two switching power
supplies, used, 220v AC input; 24 volts DC @ 25 amperes output. These
are used units, but in good condition, fan-cooled, etc.

Frank Gentges K0BRA had a hunch these power supplies could easily be
converted to 17 v AC input. He was correct, and was able to modify the
unit in a few minutes. :-)

For those of you interested in building transmitters, 25 amps is not
bad. Two of those units in series will deliver 48 volts at 25 amps,
that is 1.2 Kilowatts of DC  !

These puppies sell for $39.95, and we are thinking of organizing a
group-buy. Who is interested?
