Alex,

As you may be aware, I'm involved with ARRL's project ARIA that, among other things, is to measure noise generated by 802.11b and other emitters in the 2400 MHz band. 

What do you have in mind? (If it's adding an amplifier, it's possible to do so if operated as an amateur transmitter on one of the channels that keep the signal entirely within the 2400-2450 MHz band.)
