Thanks, Rob.  That's interesting.  Also I can see that the meaning of the
text was not changed.

Russian syntax twists my head up in knots.  I once tried to clean up a
technical document for someone in St. Petersburg.  I finally understood what
he wrote - but then, I almost could not untwist it into English syntax.  One
of the statements in the 3/8/2004 version is like that... it runs around
three times, and then goes in the back door... and that makes it difficult
to rephrase.
