Wednesday, March 1: "Understanding the West Antarctic Ice Sheet from
Space: Beyond Dogsleds and Frozen Toes" is the topic of a lecture by
NASA scientist Dr. Robert Bindschadler, sponsored by the Geoscience and

Tuesday, March 7: Washington Section Administrative Committee Meeting.

Wednesday, March 8: The Northern Virginia Section Administrative
Committee is meeting at a new location this year: Wickers Cafe, Tysons
Corner Holiday Inn, 1960 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA.
Tuesday, March 7: Author Rick Miller will offer his insights on the
process, pitfalls and rewards of Self Publishing, at a meeting
co-sponsored by the NCA Consultants' Network, Women in Engineering, and
several technical society chapters. Tysons Corner, VA.
Saturday, March 11: The National Capital Area Leadership Training
workshop is open to all IEEE members and will be especially useful for
chaper officers. Reston, VA.
Wednesday, March 15: The Computer Society is hosting a presentation on
Grid Computing by Dr. Jeffrey Hollingsworth of the University of
Maryland. College Park, MD.
Thursday, March 16: Arc Flash Protection is the subject of a
presentation by Dan Hollingsworth of Oberon Company to the Power
Engineering Society and Industry Applications Society. Arlington, VA.
