The February 2007 *IEEE eSCANNER* is now online with the following

*Tuesday, February 6:* The Washington Section Administrative Committee
will meet at the Marriott, 6711 Democracy Blvd. (NOT Pooks Hill Rd.),
Bethesda, MD. Students from the University of Maryland will give a
presentation about their solar engineering activities.
*Tuesday, February 6:* Internet pioneer Dr. Robert E. Kahn will give a
talk at the George Mason University School of Management, co-sponsored
by the Internet Society of Washington. Fairfax, VA.
*Thursday, February 8:* Ms. Soumya Krishnamoorthy will give a talk on
"Development of ZnO/SiO2/Si Guided Shear Mode Surface Acoustic Wave
(SAW) Devices for Biosensor Applications" at a meeting sponsored by the
Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, Electron Devices Society,
and Signal Processing Society (Northern Virginia Chapter). McLean, VA.
*Tuesday, February 13:* David Wikner of the U.S. Army Research
Laboratory will give a presentation on Millimeter Wave Imaging, at a
meeting of the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society. McLean, VA.
*Tuesday, February 13:* The Lasers and Electro-Optics Society will host
David Sickenberger from the Edgewood Chemical Biological Center,
Aberdeen, MD. His presentation will be "Solid-State Ultra Violet Optical
Sources and Their Application Towards Low Cost, Lightweight Biological
Agent Detectors." College Park, MD.
*Saturday, February 17:* Bring your children to the Discover Engineering
Family Day, which will offer dozens of hands-on activities. National
Building Museum, Washington, DC.
*Wednesday, February 21:* The keynote speaker at the Engineers and
Architects Day Luncheon will be Dr. Mark McHenry, president of Shared
Spectrum Co. Sponsored by the District of Columbia Council of
Engineering and Architectural Societies (DCCEAS). Washington, DC.
*Saturday, February 24:* The DCCEAS Awards Banquet will feature keynote
speaker Mark L. Uhran of NASA, who will talk about the International
Space Station. Silver Spring, MD.
*Tuesday, February 27:* Economic Valuation of Spectrum will be the
subject of a meeting of the Communication Society (Northern Virginia
Chapter) and the Society for Social Implications of Technology. McLean, VA
