nice thing about modern tuners and especially the
SteppIR antennas is that they automagically tune
for minimum smoke. as for turning the beam,
first-order solution is to put the service on
a wire antenna, but a better solution would be
to make sure the remote access protocol has
provisions for control messages for moving the
beam.  one would think that the existing remote
control protocols would have included something
like that - at least the Kenwood one.
