Anybody interested in National Instrument's Multisim and Ultiboard

I had the opportunity to discuss directly, the lady dealing with NE
USA, at NI's Multisim and Ultiboard (from former Electronics
Workbench, in Canada) and they seemed flexible in negotiating a lower
price than what is published ($500 + $500) for the Academic version. I
know there are a lot of EDA packages out there, but NI is just a lot
bigger than most of these concerns, as the products range from student
to professional.

I don't know if anyone would be interested to actually buy NI's
software, but the student version has a 50 component per project
limit, despite its very good simulation/pcb layout features, with
netlist support.

I'm interested to know if there are alternatives that have diverse
components such as the BZX series of zener diodes in the
schematic/simulation and netlist/gerber output, but not as costly as
NI.

Otherwise, are there any Amrad member  that are interested to try to
negotiate a group purchase at a discount ?
