I have two Make affiliated hackerspaces available to me - Salt Lake City and Provo.  As much as I'd like to be a full-time member of either of these groups, their dues are what I consider rather steep.  $80 to $100 a month may grant you 24 / 7  access to the Provo group, for example.  My hobby time is sporadic, and I'm not always working on a project.  I need to look into some form of 'associate' membership.

Like with most people, money is a bit tighter these days.
