ARRL: NTS and ARES ?

I recently came across a proposal, by the ARRL EC  committee to join the National Traffic System and ARES messaging for served agencies.
Since this is not the usual technical discussion, I appreciate any input after the proposal is read, on the ARRL website, which I will not include a link to, since everyone knows the address. I am likewise not injecting an opinion, as that would be counter productive...
I am enjoying West Virginia, and now am working again, something unusual in this economy....
Looking forward to seeing lots of threads on this discussion from our world wide audience.
