3 high altitude balloons were launched from California at dusk on
Sunday. They were configured as floaters, which vent excess pressure
to prevent them from bursting when they reach high altitude. This
causes them to "float", and they can travel long distances.
NG0X-2 was launched from LA, and last heard from at 2300Z Monday at
96,000 ft over north-central Ohio. LOS was most likely caused by
equipment freezing at sunset.
California Near Space Project
(http://www.californianearspaceproject.com/) launched 2 "Floaters"
from San Jose.
K6RPT-12 burst and landed near Tere Haute, Indiana.
K6RPT-11 is still in the air, at 108,000ft near Wheeling, WV,
currently traveling east at 160MPH. On it's current course, it will
pass just north of Baltimore.
You should be able to copy the APRS beacon on 144.390, or you can
