I still have one of these 25120 devices, complete with a physical drain at 
the back.  I have to drain it from time to time, otherwise the old bits back 
up, and cause failures in writing.  Mine is a 36-pin DIP package, I think.

If I can find it, I will send a pix.

I'm not sure if I remember the erase only memory, but I do remember the 
write-only memory:
