Radio Ham saves United Airlines flight?

If anyone tracks down any more detail on this incident, (such as whether
the Radio Ham transmitted on 8MHz or 12MHz aviation channels, or whether
the pilot transmitted in Amateur bands), then please let me know. And if
any transcripts are published by FAA etc...
