the late, great Jerry Reed, grandmaster guitarist and author of many of 
Chet Atkins's most famous tunes,
wrote a very witty "novelty song" titled "Lord, Mr. Ford", wherein he 
recites a litany of unanticipated
consequences brought about by what Mr. Ford's "simple horseless carriage 
has become."
("It seems your contribution to Man, to say the least, got a little out 
of hand!
Lord, Mr. Ford, what have you done?")

The subject line lyric, "This 4-wheel buggy is-a dollarin' me to death!" 
is all about
how a low purchase price can hide a wealth of ongoing pain and suffering.

The advert below for the Raspberry-Pi and all its accoutrements reminded 
me of that
line - by the time you get "all the other stuff", the low price of the 
board isn't quite as
big a bargain as it might first appear.

True, the enterprising Ham with the mythical "well-stocked junkbox" can 
probably avoid
spending some of these dollars when buying the base unit, but then that 
cleverly forgets
the funds spent stocking and replentishing the junkbox over time.

I still contend there is a big difference between "inexpensive" and "cheap".
the latter is seldom ever the former.
