[Adruino] Re: What are you building?

I'll go first:

I have two potential Arduino projects, and one Uno to start with:

1) a thermostat that can handle a pellet stove, heat pump, resistive aux
heat, outdoor temperature and an upstairs temp sensor and run them with the
priorities that I want

2) a controller for a 1960s diesel generator that has a largely mechanical
safety and governor system that annoys me. For instance it uses a time
delay relay that is built such that a coil on the outside of the relay
heats up when energized. After a time this heat is enough to melt a solder
blob inside the relay which pools in the bottom of the relay, away from the
contacts. When the solder blob cools and solidifies it can be pushed back
up against the contacts which will allow the genset to be restarted. Also
the mechanical ball-in-cup governor is touchy to adjust and not
particularly fast to respond.
