While enjoying AMRAD's Saturday delights at Tippy Taco, Ben Kobb, AK4AV,
brought up an interesting item on the end of the table where I was sitting.
It involved the Voice of America and test that are being performed with an
eye to getting around jamming of their radio broadcast.
The VOA is testing various digital modes that are familiar to amateur radio
operators. These modes can be received by using a PC Soundcard and free
software such as HRD (Ham Radio Deluxe) and can be received on any AM SW
radio. The broadcast occur on the weekend from their site in North Carolina
and are produced by Dr. Kim Elliott, KD9XB. The following URL contains more
information;

They would like to receive reception reports, sound files, etc. from
listeners who copy these broadcast.
