Is a CdS photoresistor a good detector for green light?

  Rob, you weren't specific about where you would be, hence this 
question. Are we to infer that you won't be home when the washer/ dryer 
cycles end?
If so you're risking your home by leaving operating appliances 
unattended. Ms. Fortune sometimes awaits such opportunities.
