Is a CdS photoresistor a good detector for green light?

  Maybe so but over the decades I've seen more than a couple of burned 
out dryers sitting by the curb in my neighborhood, awaiting trash pickup 
with home remediation in progress. Not a pretty sight. It doesn't happen 
often - but it /does/ happen. Ditto for water leaks and sewer drain 
backups. Just sayin'. :-)
