Congrats Mike!
Upon further inspection, it appears that the Yun cannot do TCP or UDP directly. It’s pretty much an http-only thing, even though it uses OpenWRT. I will know more when I get mine, but it looks like a bust for my application. I may need to revisit other devices. My Parallella seems to have been pushed back to mid-November delivery as well.... too bad.

I was looking at the Yun a couple of weeks ago, and have one on order. The main advantage may be the integrated wired ethernet and wifi, as far as I’m concerned. I haven’t found any details on the wifi part of it yet, such as sustained throughput, TCP/IP and/or UDP/IP availability, etc. I know it does both “access point” and infrastructure modes. Overall, an interesting concept, if the Linux part has enough steam, with the Arduino chip strictly doing the I/O.
