I agree that digging a trench and running power to the site of your
someday shop makes sense. The cost should be similar to the solar
panel idea, less prone to issues over time, and more useful for other
projects.

If you don't use the vehicles terribly often a little red wagon may be
in order to move the batteries to existing power while you think
through the options.
