Hi Chip.
Why do you presume it is a TMARC coordinated repeater causing the
problem? Might not even be an uncoordinated repeater. If it is a digital
signal and not just intermodulation interference from some other high
power transmitter. Almost sounds like a pager at some spots in that
recording. Not at all what I remember D-STAR sounding like. but I have
not tried to feed this into a D-STAR decoder.
Also TMARC coordinated exactly four repeaters on the 10 KHz interstitial
frequency down in the 20KHz channel area where there was believed to be
sufficient geographical separation AND warned the D-STAR repeater owners
they might have to shift. Only in one of those four was there an issue (
near far problem ) so the digital repeater went off the air until a
regular coordination came open. In the other three cases they knew their
physics just fine. In the rest of the TMARC area the digital repeaters
are on normal channel spacing for 2m...
On 70cm the narrow band digital repeaters can be offset by plus or minus
6.25KHz sharing one 25KHz channel. And same rules on geographical
separation.
