U.S. government gives thumbs-up to fleet telematics

Telematics - an effective method to manage vehicle fleets.

I have enabled telematics in all my company-supplied vehicles to permit me to receive real-time alerts:

Vehicle condition
- oil changes due
        - tire pressure, oil pressure, etc. error codes

Vehicle location
        - geo-fencing (did the employee take the car out of town on a "personal use" trip?
        - time and lat/long of speed in excess of a set limit

And, of course - vehicle location, slow vehicle, stop engine in the event of theft

Not to mention the iOS/Android app that permits remote start on cold mornings!

All pre-installed like Sirius/XM satellite radio and a modest monthly fee.

Well worth the cost.
