MicroCenter

what I was attempting to point out is that most "walk-in" businesses, be
they a supermarket, or a bookshop, have what they call "loss leaders",
where their profit margin is minimal, but it attracts people to come
inside. (This helps them fight Amazon and e-Bay).
Recently, Microcenter in Vienna VA --as opposed for instance, to Fry's in
Sunnyvale-- has changed to the point that it now reminds me of the brass
souk in Baghdad: same inane salesmen, same disorganization, same
disinterest in the Customer, the salesmen's only motivation appearing to
be to place one of their own name-stickers on whatever you happen to look
at.
Visit the Apple room at Microcenter and ask a few questions, then visit the
Apple store at Tysons, and you will readily appreciate the difference.
