Opinions on safety of dropbox ???

I know, an even number does not sound correct but this page 
http://history.nasa.gov/computers/Ch4-4.html explains the computer 
synchronization and redundancy management system. Ascent and descent 
configuration was a 4 cpu set running the same software and 1 cpu 
running the other teams software. The 4 cpu set checked on each other 
and if one went insane it was voted out by its mates. If the whole 
set of 4 cpus went insane and the pilot figured this out, a button on 
the stick would switch the 4 cpu set out and the 5th cpu would have 
complete control.
