Another example are two dams on the Salt River northeast of Phoenix AZ.
The pumped storage units at Horse Mesa Dam ( 97MW) and Mormon Flat Dam (
50MW) that were installed in 1971 and 1972 as a part of conversion from
25 Hz to 60Hz. I did not realize 25Hz power was being generated as late
as that.
Perhaps lots of example of pumped storage units?
