I'm not sure if I sent this info to tacos already... so here goes.
Elektor magazine is offering the Red Pitaya board for about half price right
now. It was about $500, it is now just under $250 if you are a subscriber
to Elektor, and just above $250 if you are not a subscriber.
What is a Red Pitaya, I hear you ask. Well, it can be a fruit, but this
version is not. It is a small credit-card sized card that the company touts
as a programmable instrument. They have code to make it a two-channel
oscilloscope, a two-channel signal generator, a spectrum analyzer (two
channels!), an LCR meter, and other fun stuff.
The Red Pitaya has a Xilinx FPGA/SOC hybrid chip, with:
two-channel, 125Msps, 14-bit ADC
two-channel, 125Msps, 14-bit DAC
lower-sample rate ADC & DAC (100ksps IIRC)
extra GPIO
multiple USB ports
Ethernet port
(one USB can have a Wifi adaptor in it)
I have been very interested in the board for a while, but it cost too much
as a toy at $500. At the sale price, that's a different story.
All ya-all know how interested I am in SDRs. Well, someone has turned the
Red Pitaya into an SDR receiver, that interfaces with Winrad or HDSDR, -
which probably now includes Linrad as well.
I do NOT have any interest in the company, other than I think this is a
great board, at a great price.

I hope the sale goes on for a little while longer. I'm expecting my board
to arrive any day now (RSN).
