What about it? It works. My Leaf has both a J1772 connector and a
CHAdeMO connector up front. There are even a fair number of CHAdeMO
chargers around though they're nowhere near as popular as J1772 EVSE.
The connector is disturbingly large; it's like plugging in a can of
Coke. I'll admit to backing away a little bit the first time I saw
"392 volts 106 amps" on the display...
One thing that scares me just a little bit - J1772 is bog simple and
has a dumb protocol, but the CHAdeMO connector includes lines to talk
directly to your CANbus. Plugging one's car into random CANbus
connectors strikes me as a lousy idea.
