Part-15 Nazis

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but....
I think I know what's driving the "no user-servicable parts"
assault on Part-15 products.
The cellular carriers are intent on taking over the Part-15
ISM spectrum at both 2.4 and 5.8 GHz and simply coopting it
for their own use. To make that work, though, they have to
have an efficient way to herd the riff-raff off of their
newly-absconded spectrum. They could just do it, but they
would have to suffer interference from all the existing kit.
The next New Shiny Feature that gets most of everyone to buy
a new Wifi Thing has the usable spectrum throttled back dramatically
and pirate upgrades won't work. Presto! At that point, if you want
anything approximating "working" cordless service, you gotta buy
it from the Sellular Sloths at pennies per packet because there
is no recourse.
Why would the FCC do this?
They've been deeeeeeeply in the carrier's pockets for decades now.
Further, the current administration said they were going to
convert 500MHz to new wireless service and they will happily count
the Wifi bands toward that goal.
So there's your Tin Hat Update for the week!
