well, that didn't take long

Was having trouble over the weekend receiving NatGeo on my SiliconDust
tuner on FIOS.

Called Verizon, wasted some time, had them ship me a new cablecard.

There's nothing wrong with my CableCard.  Just Rupert Murdock.

Seems that NatGeo has joined the rest of Murdock's properties, HBO,
and Cinemax in having the copy protection/drm bit set.  So I can't
record them on open source software, just with a sealed system like
Windows Media Center or TiVO.

I hear he fired a bunch of the good journalists yesterday too.
