I have just been watching some of the BBC stuff on WW2.  Somehow I had never connected to the fact that the  "Window" aluminum strips had to be little dipoles of the right length.  Duh!  So how would the copper needles work as there is a lot of space up there to fill and intermod if they were tuned might have been interesting.  N0UU
