Also a side note on the RPI, I have ran quite a few OS on them, for an
easy out of the box OS Ubuntu Mate works quite well.

I run an RPI3 in an outdoor security camera enclosure, and stream video
via wifi, driveway camera. Have used a PC on the display end inside the
house, one I was using the cooling fan went over the rainbow bridge so I
just set a 3B up to do that task using Ubuntu Mate.
It works the PI3 pretty hard but seems stable..not bad for a $35 solution.
