Thoughts on current production DMMs?

Hi gang,
My Fluke model 12 has gotten a bit flakey, ironic timing considering I bought it at Frys in Santa Clara almost 30 years ago.
This was a piece of my tool bag equipment, routinely subjected to the tender mercies of airlines. Like my Mitutoyo 6” calipers, something I took reasonable care of but didn’t feel bad about carrying clenched in my teeth underneath a vehicle.
Durability more important than features. In fact the only “unusual” feature that I have on the nice to have list is decent resolution (more than one digit) in the low millivolts range both dc and ac since periodically it would be nice to measure across a shunt, either precision or field improvised.
Any thoughts? The cheap and cheerful Chinese brands on Amazon that have mind share in the maker community are tempting but I have no idea on the durability aspect.
