Certainly someone else on Tacos might be better informed than I.
All I know is that my own house is not encumbered by restrictive
covenants.

Subject: No. VA antenna restrictions?
Date: Wed, 9 Jun 1999 10:13:12 -0400 (EDT)
Mr. Bottoms,
I got your name and email address from the AMRAD web site. I will be
moving to the Virginia suburbs of D.C. for a year beginning in August '99,
and will be looking for housing there next week (June 13-16). I have
looked up SB-480, the Virginia law on amateur antenna restrictions, but
have a question about it's application. I was hoping that as a resident
of this area, you might be able to help me with a quick answer.
I am looking at houses and condos. I assume that the law applies to
freestanding houses, but wonder if the law applies to condos with common
grounds areas and connected units. Specifically, I have a lead on a condo
in Mclean that has an enclosed patio area at ground level. Can the
placement of outside antennas be restricted by local law, covenants and/or
prevented entirely by the condo rules?
I realize that you may not be an expert in these matters, but would
appreciate any help you could offer. It would be nice to know a bit about
this before bringing the matter up with landlords and real estate agents.
Thanks for any help you might have to offer.
73,
Lee W. Lumpkin
